We have now planned a regular Saturday outing in and around San Antonio. I'm not sure how regular it would turn out to be, but as of now my husband looks a little relieved from his busy schedule.
Summer had just started and since i spend most of the time indoor, i never knew that it can be so intense. We reached hemisfair park at around 11:00 AM. The whole park was built for hosting the 1968 world Fair.
At the entrance there is a children's play ground completely on wood.
Our first destination was the Tower of America. At the basement was a 4D theatre which had a show on 'Skies Over Texas' . It was worth watching and yes "feeling" the 4th dimension.
After the show we went up to the 750 foot tall Tower to see the whole of San Antonio .The Observation Deck gives you a good view of San Antonio!.
The water fountains here are another attraction which can be worth watching.
Our next stop was the Institute of Texan Culture which housed a Museum of Texan history and also gives a detailed picture of the early inhabitants and their life style.
After lunch we headed towards the most prominent attraction here - 'The River Walk'. This was the best part of the day.The soothing music played by flute artists added to the charm and beauty of this spot.
Except the hot climate, i can say our day went good going around the Park and the River Walk. We do have plans to go back sometime once the summer fades. Few of the snaps taken here..
